The size of the radio is standard, but the size of the cage is not. I used to install Alpine and Clarion radios and the holes were just a little bit different. If you already have a DIN hole, then you are set. You might have to make a cover to go behind the DIN cage to cover your old knob holes. I did in my truck. The outer edges of the knobs were showing on the sides of the radio. I made a cover plate from ABS we had at the shop and put it between the cage and the dash. Looked good then. Buy your radio first, then cut the hole to fit. In dash 8 track isn't a DIN size hole. Not if it was factory. DIN is a european sizing, so no way was it used in 67-72.
