Which fitting is missing? The actual fuel line or the filter housing fitting on the inlet of the carb? Neither of which are pipe thread. If it is the fitting the fuel line threads into, you will need that specific fitting, and most likely nothing the local hardware store will have.
A photo would go a long way here to getting help.
