The 98 still had engine driven fans. The 98 didn't have a theft deterrent module of any kind that i can remember or lots of people know it as pass key for the recovering Camaro crowd. I would imagine that the same guys that rewire the LS harnesses for the locals to you can redo the factory Vortec harness to get rid of a bunch of unneeded stuff for you. If your not aware of anyone local I know one guy I would trust with anything wiring on a motor. John Spears at Speartech. I am sure that there are other that will do just as good but he did a 6.0 4L80E harness for me long time ago before it became stylish. Jim
