Slonaker is sorta right.
There's a pressure sw. mounted on the receiver drier take off the connector and jumper it then remove the connector on the compressor and hook up a test light to it and put the selector in any A/C position and see if you get pwr @ the compressor.
If so then you need to ck. the sys. for leaks & repair them and service it.
If not then it could be the sw. or a wireing problem but i'd look at the sw. first.
