Good evening truckdude239. It's funny you should say that, I did think about that long and hard. If you look up the measurements that's posted on the web of the gm muscle car oil pan or the LH8 oil pan measurements in relation to the standard truck oil pan, they have the same shape but are different about 3/4 of an inch. The Holley oil pan(302-1), has the same shape is about 6 inches deep at the rear. I didn't want to buy an oil pan and come up with the oil pan extending pass the front cross member. There are countless threads on this forum explaining different options. I wanna thank "low elco"for this idea. Also, hart rod gets some credit also.
