Re: 1988 GMC Sierra Overheating - coolant loss please help.

I know im bringing a thread back from the dead here, I just now got around to doing the test, twice, on two different day with not ONE sign of the dye changing to green.

I assume my next step would be a coolant pressure test to see where my coolant is going. I am leaning toward somewhere near the back of the intake, possibly at the heater line, and the water pump.

As I run the engine up to a higher rpm, it seems to flow okay, then when i let out of the gas, the coolant seems to stop flowing. Pretty much tumbles on top of itself, and the coolant rises in the reservoir, even though the coolant is low.

NEW are the radiator, thermostat, and heater core. I mean what honestly do I have left to replace here but the heater line and intake gaskets/water pump.

I have god awful heat in the winter time as well...
