I'm a mechanic for a trucking co.we had a truck that was stolen and recovered. My company was gonna scrap the truck, so I bought the entire truck for scrap price ($500). It'll be hard to find a deal like that. On Craigslist, I've seen engines and tyranny for about $1500-$2500. Mine is the 4.8 and you can pick up those pretty cheap. It has plenty of power for me driving it everyday.
