If you were trying to use the Vette regulator I am assuming your motor is setup as a return-less fuel system. Return-less systems have only one line on the intake manifold and fuel pressure is typically regulated at the tank, or at the filter in the Vettes case.

The questions is what is your horsepower goal and budget for the fuel system?

With higher horsepower applications you have much more control over the fuel pressure and eliminate surging caused by a return-less system. Return systems also handle big fuel demand swings much better.

The biggest down side to the swap is the cost because you will need new rails, a fuel pressure regulator, filter, and an added line back to the tank.
