Are you sure it's the gaskets and not wicking up the studs? Don't know your bolt / stud configuration or if the LS has dry holes or not. Just a thought.
Also the Ra- surface on the heads is apparently a big deal with the Cometic gaskets. Cometic cites a minimum roughness of 50 Ra as I recall,, may be even rougher. If it's too slick the head doesn't 'bite into ' the gasket and the head moves around,, = eventual leaking.
Just what we found in the small-block stuff,,, you mileage may vary.
