Re: Going to lengths for legroom.
This hasn't gone away yet, I've just been super busy helping with other projects and school for Tig.
The current thoughts are now twofold; Since tubbing the firewall will have to happen, I want to keep it a small as possible to keep room for headers etc. I'm already thinking that since I need to exhaust setup to take advantage of my new heads, I'll have to just build or modify a custom set. I'll need to do the footwell project before completeing that as well, so its holding up lots of future projects.
Part of the other idea is "down not out". Basically cutting some of the "floormat" area of the floor in front of the cab support, and channeling the footwell in there as well. This will have similar effect to raising the seat, and gains us another 1-3" without going further out. The hope is that the combination of the two changes will allow us to mount a new pedal setup in a comfy place for me.
Frankly, I've come so far on the truck that I should really just take a step back, pat myself on the back and move it along...but I really don't think I can do that.
