Corner to corner with-in an 1/8 is okay, but if you are measuring 1/2 out mid-section and it is in the rear of frame it could be that one time or another to much weight over load and it bowed. It can be brought back into shape if you have a come along and a welding torch. Find the section that's bowed heat area and bring it in with come along. It would really not make a difference depending on what set up your using for rear closed drive shaft no biggy but if going with open rear end (differential) than u-joints might be a problem.
