I've seen some serious draws with dirty battery tops in the past including one that killed the battery in three or four hours on a student's truck when I was teaching.
Exciter is hooked up on a keyed circuit.

Alternator is new. Battery is new and clean.

Stock fuse block and voltage regulator is still in place. It is pretty hacked together but all the connections are good. It needs a complete rewire......but I would like to get this figured out first.
