Alternator Issues

I had an issue with an altenator and want to share with all of you.

The main wire on the altenator got loose and the connector was glowing red from being so hot (arcing).

I let it cool off and tried to tighten the nut. It decided to break off just as I thought it was tight enough.

I ended up with this after I grounded the end flat.

Notice the windings coming through the case. Not going to come off easy.

I didn't have any metric nuts so I used a 5/16" nut drilled with a 17/64" bit and tapped with a 8-1.25 tap.
