Re: ECE vs Hotckis Springs

I've used both. I had 5" ECE springs for a long time, then switched to Hotchkis 6" springs about a year ago. The Hotchkis springs have a different load strength. They seem to be a progressive spring as they actually ride a bit softer until compressed more, where the ECE springs were a bit "bouncy". I autocross and drive my truck hard, so I personally like the Hotchkis springs, and they seemed to help traction a bit due to the different load rating. Not to discredit ECE at all, though. They still make and carry high quality components that I would still buy and use on a good cruiser or mild performance build.

For my truck, though, I'm leaning more toward track oriented performance, and updated suspension geometry is where I'm looking for my next purchases. Technology has come a long way since the 60's- early 70's so there's lots of room for improvement.
