Is there a tank selector switch in the cab? Have you looked underneath to see how the fuel lines are configured? Is the tank selector valve still under there? If it is, you can add a passenger tank (even if it isn't you could add one). I'd definately keep the tank brackets from your parts truck, and if it is short wheelbase truck you can resuse that tank on your new truck. (big tank won't fit a shortbed).
