What kind of starter is that?
I don't ever remember seeing any that had the solenoid cockeyed on the starter like that. Usually the two big posts are vertically lined up with the center line of the starter.
It looks like an aftermarket mini starter and 95 % of the posts you see on those all over the net are about guys having trouble with them working as planned or expected.
