I just see absolutely no reason to change a '63-'72 frame to a '73-'87 frame, when the front suspension and steering from the '73-'87 will work on the '63-'72 frames. Even with a 4x4, the work to build all new body mounts is not any less work than just installing the 4x4 running gear under an original frame. Then you get to keep the original frame with the VIN that matches your cab VIN
