SS Tim, I disagree a little to the extent that what we -mean- when we say NOS is a part produced during the original production run. There are, as we see, a ton of service parts that often do the job but aren't correct for an original. So I'm only really picking a nit about the name.
Those would still be literally New Old Stock, but not what we usually want.
When searching on eBay, if it's got a bar code, I ignore it. I'm fairly certain GM didn't bar code in 1970. So definitely follow the gmpartswiki advice Tim gives. What I'm not certain is if a service part could ever carry the same part number as the production part, yet differ.
