Re: Accesory drive interchange question
First off, a Gen II is the old school EFI LT1. For truck engines (4.8, 5.3, 6.0) Gen III is anything from 99-07
Secondly, all the accessories are modular and interchangable. There are some mods that must be done sometimes to correctly utilize different accessories. For example, 4th gen F-body accessories require a bolt hole that does not exist on an iron block truck engine. The boss is there, you just have to drill and tap it. There are some variations, but for the most part, unless you really know what you're doing, you'll need to keep the water pump matched with the rest of the accessories, to keep the ofset from the block the same, and the pulleys all on the same plane.
You can get crazy with it if you want though...I've swapped a truck pulley to a camaro pump and run it with truck accessories in the past.
Go to the junkyard and find the accessories off of a junk LS truck. I can get them in my local junkyard for $50-100
