As far as I know both the SM465 and NV4500 shifters are centered side to side. I think the 4500 shifter is a bit farther back. No doubt the measurements can be found by searching the internet.
A late 4x4 NP205 uses a round pattern like a 4x4 NV4500 and an early 32 spline short NP205 input can make things almost bolt up. As I recall you have to shorten the trans output by about .25". Or you can use the long input and a spacer from AA.
On pirate there are people selling oval to round adapters. ORD and others may have some as well.
