It is actually a popular swap into a square body as it places the rear wheels further out and closer to in line with the track width of the front.

Leaf perches are in the completely wrong place so they need removed and new ones installed in the correct place for your truck.

I can't remember the increase off the top of my head but it was a little over 1" per side.

The only internals it shares with the older 10-bolt is the ring gear. It uses 30-spline axles instead of 28-spline like the square body version so the carrier is also different.

As strong as the truck 12-bolt with many more donors on the road to choose from.
