Had one of those apart years ago. I seem to remember the axle shaft grease seal, which is inboard of the U-joint, is the problem. The knuckle has a felt wiper under the ring that encloses the knuckle to the 'ball' on the end of the axle housing. That felt ring is not designed to hold back oil, it is there to keep dirt/water out of the enclosed U-joint. If you get it all apart, there is a chance the seal is an off-the-shelf part (hopefully it has a number on it). Of course, you run the risk of getting it apart and not having parts to put it back together.
