Too many variables... is this a stock engine or does it have an aftermarket manifold and carb? Also like Justin said... As long as there is no slop and it closes all the way when you let off the pedal... and you have WOT when you hammer it to he floor, you're good.
Check your service manual for the stock procedure, and then you can make it work for pretty much anything aftermarket too.
