His 53 should already have Bendix brakes on it.
A bit of curious snooping brought up this site, http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/ and if you scroll down it has wms to wms measurements on different Toyota six lug axles.
I didn't find available gear ratios though

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
