What he said, along with the tuneup. A new carb really won't improve over your stock Q-jet if it is functioning properly. Q-jets are great carbs when they work well, and if yours is fine i would keep it. An intake might add 15 or so HP, but i am by no means a dyno expert. And of coure a mild cam would also help out.
