Re: Column repair, won't start, lock doesn't work
You will need to pull the ignition lock cylinder back out. The metal spring on the left the goes in the gear for the rack goes in the slotted part of the black gear. A good way to make sure everything is working correctly is to remove the actual ignition switch at the bottom of the column. Move the rod up and down and watch if the pieces on the rack are turning as they should. If not, you are going to have to tear it back down and make sure everything lines up. Basically make sure from the bottom of the column by moving the rod it is making the pin for the lock plate move in and out.
