Bouncy Fuel Gauge

What is normal for our rigs? How much should the needle bounce?

I have a 1972 K5 and recently replaced the original cluster with a restored cluster. After taking the rig out for a test drive after replacing the cluster I noticed the gas gauge bounces a lot. I have to be honest, I don't drive the rig much since buying it so I don't remember what it was like with the original gas gauge.

How much bouncing needle is normal from sloshing gas in the tank? Mine will bounce and when coming to a stop at a red light, it will not stop bouncing before the light turns green again. This seems excessive to me.

Tbone1964 is helping me and we would like your input.

Thanks !
