It's been a while since I did the research but the V6 T5 had lower max torque rating, and a smaller clutch with fewer splines on the input shaft than the v8 T5. Reading on the Gen 3 camaro forums it seemed to recommend V8 T5.
Of course, it also comes down to how you drive, i guess if you have a mild V8 and drive conservatively i would think there wouldn't be any problems. Me personally, I'm already pushing past the max torque rating of the Non-WC V8 T5, and I don't drive conservatively
I had my Non-WC V8 T5 behind an inline 6 and now behind my 350 and it worked well with both.
