If you look at the bottom of the bedside, you will see that the 90 degree piece is a separate piece that is spotwelded to the bottom of the bedside. Its whole purpose is to cover up the remainder of the rocker box, and give the impression that the rocker lip continues on, instead of stopping abruptly. If you can, jack the box up and fit the rocker panel back on before you weld anything. That way, you can still make adjustments. I didn't want to see you cut up your rocker panel! Those Tri-plus rockers usually look and fit better than the NOS ones I have used.
