not familiar with the GM246 unit.....but know that the NVG-149 is one b@d@$$ AWD unit. The torque split is awesome and they can handle all kinds of HP. Guys putting all kinds of power to them....like a Gear Vendors OD. I owned a '01 Sierra C3 and wish I had never let it go. Amazing traction in nearly any scenario....pulled a Mustang uphill on slick ice and never spun a wheel...on stock Michelins....then found out he had is e-brake on the whole time and that I was dragging vs pulling him. LOL! Just one example.
