The NV3500 is something I have no experience with but many forum members view them as a good option equal to the T5. The problem is they are very difficult and expensive to rebuild (so I've been told). Wikipedia says the OD gear is 0.73 which is great for a 3.73 rear and even a 3.42 if you have a V8 SBC. The bell is incorporated with the case. An NV3500 pulled from a 4.3L engine in an S10 truck will have a SBC pattern bell. It would be a good choice if you can find one with low miles. I don't know how to hook up a hydraulic clutch to the NV3500.
