"Best" is a perception based on experience. My experience with Vintage Air is positive. my 69 & 70 both have Vintage Air.

You can install this on your own. I did. Which means mechanically inclined and not a mechanic.

I opted for factory looking controls (stock) with the VA conversion to electronic.
You can also use VA control panel, but I like the stock 3 sliding levers that came from the factory.

This is not a difficult installation as the kits for our trucks are designed specifically for our trucks and fit very well. Of course your going to lose that nice deep glove box. It will become a very shallow glove box.
