Tusky, have you given airbags a thought?
run lighter springs for a nice ride & still have carrying capacity. i have 5000lb firestone bags in the rear of mine, not for capacity though ( i have 4500lb rear leafs) but i dont like that tail dragger look when loaded. you can also "tune" your ride some playing around with the air pressure, & you'll never have a lopsided load again.....
