That's a busy bumper you have there. Not sure how useful all the misc. add-ons are for you, but a utilitarian step bumper is a million times more work friendly than a roll-pan or sport bumper. If you are seriously considering not having any bumper, then box access is obviously not a concern.
Finish wise, the bumpers were either chromed or painted depending upon how it was ordered. Frequently though, no rear bumper was installed on the line and a regional utility bumper was fitted at the dealer. These came in many forms and most often were painted silver.
