There are some guides and stuff over on the HP Tuners forum. The reality is tho, most folks who are that fluent in ECM Programming, also make money on it. There is a sort of stigma against "new" tuners due to the huge # of people that have bough HP Tuners and started to tune friends vehicles and blow them up. The learning curve is sort of a barrier to entry, and not everyone wants to change that.

The reality is tho, if you pick up the program and use the starter guides that do exist, you can get your feet wet pretty quickly. You won't jump right into SD tuning boosted vehicles, but learning how fuel and spark tables work, and a LOT of math.

When you take on learning HPT, your basically agreeing to learn automotive engineering. Even tho the computer will do the math for you and help interpolate adjustments, knowing the system behind those figures is vitally important.
