I've run and plan to run again a cupped lower A-arm combined with airbags on my next truck/blazer. I know many people running that with no issues...the bags fully deflated are like a 4-5" drop spring. They are bolted in the upper side but simply sit in the bottom cup...they don't come out or dislodge when the suspension fully travels.
