A little heat in the intake is a good thing for a street engine. It will let the fuel atomize a lot better. If kept cold the fuel will stick to the intake floor much easier. This is not a race engine you are working on here. Use the restrictors and be done with it. If you don't let a little heat get to it, it will run like crap until it gets warm. I know you are in Cali, but the engine still gets cold and must run until it gets up to temp.

Yeah, I agree with you Mike...I've been running NO restrictor this entire time! hahaha. Man, I'm seriously anxious to see how this thing'll run when it's all back together later tonight...besides the fact I put my stock #62 jets back in the primary side, haha.
