I love all the varieties of setups, I think that is one of the best part of old cars and trucks is seeing the awesome innovations, styling, and uniqueness of what people create. I would say do what ever you want, its your truck do what makes you happy with it. I put an LS motor in our 68, but it did not have a motor/ tranny when we bought it so it was easy to decide with that. But I love the LS setup, the truck has great power and is very dependable. Plus it gets lot of attention when you open the hood, it looks stock from the outside.
