I put an LS motor in our 68, but it did not have a motor/ tranny when we bought it so it was easy to decide with that. But I love the LS setup, the truck has great power and is very dependable. Plus it gets lot of attention when you open the hood, it looks stock from the outside.

Sometimes I wished someone would have already molested the truck. Lol. That way I wouldn't feel bad about it. Lol.
