I am going to guess the Thread Locker GM put on the Original Steel fittings is giving you hell, A lot of it stays in the Case Threads.
The Brass Fitting have never been in that Case before...The Threads are not a Perfect match....New ones may be worse!! Manufacturing variances & Tooling play a huge role here.
The fittings out of the 700 need to seat to the Case, Done it hundreds of times & some get real tight before they seat because you are re-activating the thread locker from the heat of the Brass threads reforming to your case.
