You're right on all counts and the beauty of it all is the newer CS 130 and CS144s are wired the same way. All that's needed is to drop a 75 ohm 1 watt resistor in the brown wire and run it to the L terminal on the CS and the red sensor wire goes to the S terminal. Not only that but looping the 2 terminal to the back of the alternator renders the battery gauge useless.
