If you are going to make this into a short bed then aftermarket bedsides are the only way to go, unless you personally have the skills to make it happen because no student is going to be able to realistically take on this job unless they have been trained by a master fabricator.
I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just trying to be realistic, I know a master fabricator who took on the job and he said it was a nightmare and that he would never do it again.
