I am running a 700R4 behind mine. It was built strong because it was in my 79 4x4 for a while and I was towing and hauling stuff. It has a reprogramming kit and a corvette style servo. The one two shift is pretty harsh but I kind of like it when 2nd gear chirps and if I am in the throttle enough will get a tiny burn out shifting into 2nd. On the freeway I am taching 1800 to 2000 RPM's at 70 MPH. I am running 3.08's in the rear with 28" tall tires. I don't really know the gas mileage but I think I was getting 12 on the way down to LA but the tune was off on the engine and carb. I have since tuned all that but have not gone anywhere.
