Re: 400 sbc again or LS1 swap...what to do
If the 400 small block and heads are truly rebuilt with documentation I think that'll be the cheapest way to go. A lot of guys say, "plug 'n play" but if you already HAD a 400 small back then this truly IS.
The LS is a great option but you don't truly know what condition the internals are in just as (apparently) you didn't know the condition of the old 400. Not criticizing, just saying why buy another pig in a poke?
