just got back from vacation last night to a part I ordered a few days ago.... Found mercruiser has a nice looking engine cover for the 8.1 engines so I snagged up one to put on my engine just waiting on the hardware to come in for it. Didn't have enough hood clearance for the former Mercedes air cleaner to work properly so going another route lol. On the cover going to shave off the mercruiser logos with a nice 1/4 inch right angle air tool and makes some abs cover panels and glue them in place when ready. Also the 8.1 vortec Allison badges look nice on the wings. Once the logos are removed going to be huntin a gmc tailgate emblem to put on the front piece so it will all come together
