Problem with old shocks is they soften and become noisy. You can get a new set of original style shocks from Classic Parts that are Much stiffer than the old ones. I got tired of the front end of my 66 going up an down an up an down an up an down for what seemed like Miles after I hit a bump. lol If you can with little effort compress the shock....its time for a new one....I had to use All my weight to compress my new ones and they decompressed themselves like they're supposed to. I still have the original shocks from my 66 but they are toast from 50 years of bumpy road. So unless someone is doing a majorly BONE Stock resto....I don't think they'll hold to much value....but that's me speaking.
