I like you idea in theory as a theme....
I was thinking about doing a "black-chrome".
Theres a semi-rare bicycle called Austro-Diamler. The parent company was a partnership between Puch and Steyer (sp?) of germany. Steyer made a bunch of military stuff...long story short they black chromed the reynolds 531 tubing of they day and it looks really slick (to me anyways) its almost like a combination of blueing on guns and color change paint but looks mostly black-chrome.
If only I could figure out how Steyer did it...
That being said all of the chrome on the truck would have to undergo this process and theres probably a reason I have never seen this process on anything other than that specific bicycle from the late 70's to mid 80's...
