I assume you have a newer truck? Possibly a square body? They have smaller temp senders which can be turned down to the correct size, however, the 67-72's are way too big and if you try to turn it down small enough, you will run out of meat on the sender. Others have tried the turned down square body sender, but then the gauge isn't as accurate. You're right though, works great on the newer stuff.
