He didn't raise the price. If you will look at the first post you will see that the seats are for sale for $600. He is explaining why they are worth at least $650 compared to what individual seats, console and brackets might cost you elsewhere on the board.
If you are going to replace the foams, buy some junk seats and have at it. These don't need new foam and they DON'T STINK. They have been in dry storage for 16 years.
Just sayin'...
