That link will give you some good reading and help you decide. With that being said, I've used Mobil 1 oil & Mobil 1 filters for the past 15 years in everything I've had -
92 C1500 (flat tappet cam) 350 that had 263,000 miles on it when I sold it and still ran great and never had one engine issue - 5w-30
05 GMC Sierra - 5.3, currently has 148,000 miles on it and it runs like new, I pulled the valve covers at 116k to do a cam swap and the inside was like new, 5w-30.
'69 C10 - 454, has about 600 miles on fresh rebuild, used Valvoline VR1 conventional to break it in, and Mobil 0w-40 at the first oil change and will from now on.

WOW......... I've only added Zinc one time (currently, "board advise") and the message in this weblink is
DON'T USE. I'm changing the oil today. A few things I got out of this:
1. CONCLUSION: No matter what anyone else tells you, the “Ideal Lubrication Setup” for most traditional engines, is a high volume/high pressure oil pump with a thinner multi-viscosity motor oil such as 5W30.
2. If not high mileage, you don't use an additive and aren't racing, then for wear protection, 5W30 Mobil 1, API SN synthetic is a good way to go.
I'm sold.
Thanks for the info.
